Description of the offer

Day 1: Journey to the village, local cuisine and Lahu crafts

• 09:00 – Departure from your hotel in Chiang Rai.
• On the way to the mountains, stop at a local market to choose together the fresh products that will be used for the meals prepared in the village.
• Arrival at the Lahu village
• Welcome by your Lahu hosts: settle in, then take a walk through the village to discover its way of life, stilt houses and surrounding landscapes. Your English-speaking guide will explain the traditions and culture of the Lahu people.
• Cooking class and lunch: you will prepare the meal alongside your hosts using traditional methods, then share an authentic lunch in a friendly atmosphere.
• Afternoon: you will take part in a traditional Lahu weaving workshop and create a small souvenir to take home.
• Dinner and evening in the village: after picking vegetables and aromatic plants from the garden, you will help prepare the evening meal before enjoying a relaxed evening with games and exchanges with the villagers.
• You will spend the night in a traditional house

Day 2: Hiking, outdoor cooking and waterfall

• Around 08:30: you will have breakfast in the village before leaving for an easy walk through the surrounding mountains.
• Nature walk: you will follow a path crossing rice fields, coffee plantations, pineapple farms, rubber trees and terraced vegetable fields typical of northern Thailand.
• Relaxation break: your guide will teach you how to make bamboo utensils, then you can enjoy a refreshing swim at a lovely waterfall hidden in the jungle.
• Outdoor lunch: you will enjoy a meal cooked in bamboo and served on banana leaves for an authentic and eco-friendly experience.
• Return to the village: you will enjoy a few more nature-inspired games before saying goodbye to your Lahu hosts.
• 17:00: Return to Chiang Rai. Arrival expected in the late afternoon, with your heart full of beautiful memories.

Who are the Lahu?

The Lahu are a mountain ethnic group of Tibeto-Burmese origin who settled more than a century ago in the mountains of northern Thailand. Known for their way of life in harmony with nature, their craftsmanship and strong community solidarity, they live mainly from agriculture and weaving. Despite the evolution of the modern world, the Lahu proudly preserve their traditions, their language and their legendary sense of hospitality.
